Berny Auton
Berny began his career teaching Economics, as a house master, a counsellor and as an assistant Dean of Students. He then moved into industry, managing and training teams in various sectors and providing consultancy to large corporations, not-for-profits and humanitarian organisations in more than 40 countries. He completed his thirty-year career in commerce as an Operations Director for a leading global technology business.
Berny then went ‘back to school’ to study individual and team coaching at the University of Oxford and complete an MA at Oxford Brookes. He now coaches and mentors young people, supporting them in secondary and further education, gaining employment and navigating their career transitions. Berny also volunteers with abandofbrothers mentoring Young Men at risk of, or caught up in the criminal justice system. He also helps abandofbrothers train and supervise men who want to be volunteer mentors.
When he is not mentoring, Berny likes to be working in his art studio — painting, sculpting, making pots, or in his workshop — restoring old fountain pens. He lives in Kennington with Lisa and Anya, a very old spoilt cat.
